OPI | Katy Perry Collection | Swatches & Review

Katy Perry combines her love of music and nails to introduce a new line of lacquers with OPI, launching January 2011.  Inspired by Katy’s cutting edge style and latest album, Teenage Dream, the Katy Perry Collection by OPI will include four fierce, irresistible colors for nails and toes.

Complementing Katy’s already daring nail trends on and off the red carpet, a revolutionary Black Shatter™ formula will accompany the collection to create a ground-breaking cracked pattern when applied over each dried bright lacquer.

“We are thrilled to be teaming up with such a prominent pop music icon like Katy Perry,” says Suzi Weiss-Fischmann, OPI Executive VP & Artistic Director. “Katy is known world-wide for her innovative style and is always surprising us with her wild nail designs. When we learned about Katy’s love for lacquers, we couldn’t resist the opportunity to work together to create this glamorous collection.”

I am a fan of Katy Perry and I was so excited when I heard about her collaboration with OPI.  I am absolutely loving this collection!  This is my first time using a crackle polish and it has been so much fun!

Here it is...

Last Friday Night - Described as "T.G.I.F. = This Glittery-blue Is Fierce!"  This one is a transparent blue with tons of glitter.  This polish is gorgeous, packed with multi-colored micro glitter and tons of small hexagon holo glitter.  I truly love this one!  This application is 3 coats.

Last Friday Night + Black Shatter - I absolutely love this combo! I love seeing all the micro glitter and hex glitter peeking through the crackle polish.  Black Shatter dries matte.  In the picture above I have applied a top coat of Seche Vite.

Not Like The Movies - Described as "This sultry silver is the real deal."  This one is a silvery gray with a slight green and purple duochrome effect.  It is also packed with tons of silver micro glitter.  I really love this one!  This application is 2 coats.

Black Shatter + Not Like The Movies - I applied a top coat of Seche Vite.

Teenage Dream - Described as "A dreamy pink glitter that you're sure to crush on!"  This one is definitely one of my favorites of this collection.  This is a transparent pink with tons of pink micro glitter and small holo hex glitter.  This application is 3 coats.

Teenage Dream + Black Shatter - I applied a top coat of Seche Vite.

The One That Got Away - Described as "You always thought you'd marry this amazing deep berry."  To me this one was way more impressive in the bottle than on the nail.  Nonetheless, this  one is a gorgeous berry color with silver micro glitter.  This application is 2 coats.

The One That Got Away + Black Shatter - I like this color a lot more after I put Black Shatter over it.  I applied a top coat of Seche Vite.

All in all, I really love this collection.  My faves are Teenage Dream, Last Friday Night and Not Like The Movies.  I absolutely love the Black Shatter crackle polish!  It is a fun and easy way to add a different look and texture to any color. What do you think of Katy Perry's Collection for OPI?
